Through Our Eyes debuted in 2006 as a musical theater production about how life is seen through the eyes of special needs individuals. Their stories, told in a series of vignettes and original songs, are at times poignant, humorous, and moving. The cast of 70 is split evenly between those with disabilities and healthy teens and adults who cared to share the stage and help tell their stories.
Through Our Eyes has evolved into a special needs awareness program for schools, social organizations, religious institutions and businesses. All money raised from our programs go three specific areas: 1) funding educational programs, and 2) to building and funding special all day program centers we call the AlliesClubHouse. Participants in the AlliesClubHouses will be trained in computer skills (ClubTech), perform (ClubArtsOnStage), learn culinary skills (ClubCuisine) and much more. They will work and play beside healthy individuals (ClubBuddy), take educational courses (ClubCollege), play sports and workout (ClubSpa), and also attend seminars by individuals who volunteer as mentors.
The Cast of Through Our Eyes were honored to sing as the guest performers at the King, Gandhi, Chavez-Seasons For Non-Violence Conference at the UNITED NATIONS in New York City on March 12, 2008.
Through Our Eyes the Musical will travel to your location as a fund-raiser, either as the full production, or shortened to meet your needs. Contact Alan Rosen for additional information.
Through Our Eyes is a division of Allies, Inc., of Hamilton, NJ…a nonprofit organization providing life changing services and programs for people with disabilities since 1999.
