“THE DOORWAY TO A BRIGHT AND MEANINGFUL FUTURE”
WHAT IS THE ALLIES CLUBHOUSE?
One of the greatest concerns of families and caregivers when their children or relatives with special needs reach the age of twenty-one and leave their schools, is where
will they now spend their days? If they are able
to work full-time with or without a job coach in supported employment, then
that is probably the answer. If part-time employment or volunteer work is possible, then the question will be, how will
they spend the rest of the day?
Allies Clubhouses will fill that gap by having classes, art studios, job skills workshops, trips, recreational opportunities, and
more, to be available on a flexible schedule and open to the outside public so it is not segregated. There will be no admission
costs, however, members will be required
to “work” at least a couple hours each day - being a greeter, answering phones, filing, etc.. It will not be a workshop where
they will be paid at sub minimum wage,
nor a medical day program; but a vital interesting place to fill the gap that was
left after leaving school.
Picture a large high school, complete
with a cafeteria, theater, computer lab, classrooms, gymnasium, and maybe
even a swimming pool. That’s the Allies ClubHouse. ClubArts, ClubSpa, ClubCuisine, ClubCollege, ClubTech, ClubBuddy – and so much more. From 8:00am-midnight – this “community” provides a wide array of meaningful
activity and programming,
field trips, mentoring, education,
employment – and a unique integrated environment with people of all abilities.
We are seeking Partners and Sponsors to build and fund the ClubHouses. Please help us.
